Your assignment is to visit the PBS website: "Into the Unknown." As you navigate through the site, see how far that you can go without making a wrong decision, and leading your expedition into oblivion. As you proceed, make sure that you make a note about:
- The location
- The dilemma, or problem, facing Lewis and Clark
- What you decided to do
- How did it turn out
Then write a paragraph that describes at least 3 of the situations faced by Lewis and Clark, and how each one ended. Make sure to provide as much detail as possible, including the information that you recorded above. Don't forget to start with your class period and your first names and last initials.

Ft. Mandan-While at Fort Mandan a heavy sand storm appeared so we waited it out.
White Cliffs-There is a bear in front of the group so we decided to shoot the bear with out hesitation.
North Fork-There were multiple passages so we decided to scout the South Fork.

We went to FT.Mandan and the problem was there happened to be a very large storm. way to large for them to continue up the river, so they waited till the storm was finished. Next we went to White Cliffs and there was a giant grizzly bear who attacked us and we decided too shoot it several times , then it died. Then we went to North Fork. We were looking for the Northwest passage but we didn't find it so we came to a conclusion that it wasn't there . We then went to Falls and suddenly Sacagewea got ill and a terrible fever. but we decided to keep her because she was the only one who is able to speak Shoshone . she eventually got better because we had her drink sulphur water. Next we went to Three Forks.

Meanwhile, we traveled Fort Mandan there was going to be a big storm an we stayed to wait for the storm. After the storm we traveled to the White Cliff and there was a huge brown bear growling at us and we shot it 12 times! Next, we traveled to North Fork and we had to make a decision to go north or south to find northwest passage, but we took the south fork because there was a waterfall in the north. Then, we went to Falls and Sacagawea got sick and we had to nurse her, we cut her vain but it didnt really work so we used sulfilate water.

the first location was ft Mandan and thier sand storm so they decided to wait out the storm to continue with the trip. When they kept going they where in White Cliffs when they saw a bear near their camp while they were packing up so they shot the bear to death about 12 times. As they left they went to North Fork looking for the big water falls but they didn't know which way to go to find the passage. When they were in the falls sacagawea got really sick and they decided to heal her and wait for her to get well because she was really needed for translation.

As we began, to explore we stayed with the Mandan tribe in Fort Mandan.
There was a storm and we stayed until it was out With the help of the Indians. There was a some wind but we still continued our journey. Later on, we had to wait because they speed of the water was increasing.
The next day,in White Cliffs early in the morning we gathered food and one of our troop members was running toward us, saying he saw a huge bear. When the bear came toward us we had no other option but to shoot it.
After,we were confused on what path to take. Clark was telling us to go South Fork but we listened to our members and the Indian tribes that had mention us North Fork.

The first location is in Ft. Mandan. The problem is that there are massive bears, massive sand storms, and prairie dog-back to the east to Jefferson.the second location is at the white cliffs. The problem is that there is that the boat is being to to bucked and rocked by raids. We died because we thought we would of gotten far with the big problems we had, but it got us nowhere.

The location is Saint Charles. The promblem of the White cliffs is the river and the rocky mountain . Our deceition is for them to close the river and go in the boat and then the can go to there location. It turn out to be right and it will be easier for them to up and down steam .

Today i read that many years ago here was a storm. Before in the old days when they'd see an animal they decide if they had to shoot it or observe it. They would ask you if you/they wanted to shot the poor animal right away or if you wanted to observe the animal and well probably you would change your mind. Also if you wanted to keep observing or just keep on waiting for the storm. What they mean by keep on observing is that

The voyage of lewis and clark started at Fort Mandam.
They were not afraid to go into the unknown but the sand storms were harsh and blew large amounts of sand into the mens eyes. The White Cliffs was an easy journey but there was a bear situation where we had to shoot a bear several times. The experiance was fun and adventurous, through the sand storms, muddy trails, and beautiful plains.

frist on the lewis and clark expedition trip we went to FT.MANDAN and the problem was there was a storm passed the river our answer was that we should wait out the storm and we lived. Our second location was the WHITE CLIFFS the problem was that there was a grizzly bear our was was to shoot it immediately. Our third location was north fork our problem was to choose between north and south so we decided to go south. Our fourth location was falls our problem was that sacagawea got very sick the answer was to leave her and continue the expedition .

In Fort Mandan, Lewis and Clark's problem during their journey was a storm and they decided to stay and they survived. In the White Cliffs, their problem was a grizzly bear and they decided to shoot the bear and it turned out they survived. In the North Fork,Lewis and Clark's problem is the Missouri River and they decided to scout the south fork and it turned out they survived.

Three problems that lewis and clark faced were storms at fort Mandan, Sacagawea getting sick at the falls, and starvation at Nez Pecre. Lewis and Clark continued to go up the river at fort Mandan but the decided to stop the boats because of the harsh weather. Then, at the falls they treat Sacagawea with opium and sulfur water. Finally, the Nez Perce feed Lewis and Clarks group and they continue westward.
P2 Bryan Cervantes, Nancy Castro
One situation lewis and clark faced was a sand storm the only way they could of got out was if they waited it out.The storm was so bad there was lots of wind impossible to walk throughThis was in fort Mandan.
Another situation that lewis and clark faced was a big scary bear was surrounding them while they were at White Cliffs. So they shot the bear immediately and got away safely.
The third situation was at falls the problem was sacagawea gets a fever. They give her drugs to stop the pain. So now she dose not feel the pain.
They decided to save her because they needed her to translate for them with the Shoshone.

In Fort Mandan Lewis and Clark faced a sandstorm and they decided to stop which was helpful because most of there supplies didn't get ruined. They'er second problem is in White Falls . The problem they faced was a bear . They had a choice to observe it or shoot the bear. They decided to kill the bear instead of getting killed. They're third situation was in the Falls. the problem in the Falls was that Sacagawea was ill and they had a choice was to keep on bleeding her or give her opium and sulphur water. Lewis and Clark decided to give her opium and sulphur water and the next day she felt better

Three situation that Lewis and Clark faced throughout the expedition was facing the Missouri River that had hard sand storms that burned your skin and could hardly see.We decided to stay and wait till the storms over and continue.Another dilemma they faced was a big grizzly bear at the White Cliffs that followed one of the camper and did not die till all the men shooted.Lastly the last dilemma Lewis and Clark faced was a fork in the Missouri River and decided to take the south fork and continued there expedition which later reached the west.
P2 Betsy G. Aurora G.
One situation lewis and clark faced was the bear they encountered at White Cliffs. They were in their camp when a man came running screaming "bear!". They found the bear and shot killed.
Another situation was that Sacaguewa got sick. She got sick when they were at the Falls. For her to get better, they gave her opium and sophra water and she still was sick but she looked alot better.
Another situation was the sand storm they encountered in Fort Mandan. Its so dangerous, it even goes in your watch.

In our expedition we have came upon a lot of dilemmas such as , facing horrible sandstorms and strong winds making us in danger of getting killed , but we luckily decided to wait till the wind and storm stopped and we survived. Another thing we encountered was a huge grizzly bear, and we decided to shoot the bear twice in order for us to live and continue our journey . In addition we had trouble deciding if we let our translator behind , or take her with us after she got better . We eventually healed her and took her with us. she continued the journey with us and we were successful and met the indians.
P2 Steven R. & Joseph R.
They are in the falls and sacagawea is very sick, so i had two choices whether to let her bleed more or give her optium and sulphur water so they gave her sulphur water and optium and she survived. We needed her to survive because we needed her to translate for us. They are in Three forks and they have a decision to take the Gallatin, Madison or Jefferson branch. They take the Jefferson branch which took them up south and they survived, if they would of took a different path they would of landed somewhere else and die. They are in the Whitecliffs and they notice a bear growling at them , they could wait to see what happens or shoot the bear right away, They chose to shoot the bear, which was a good decision because they shouldent risk get eaten by a bear they should just shoot it.
Maria R. & David R. Per.2
During Lewis's and Clarks expedition, they encountered many problems at different locations. One of these problems was at Fort Mandon. While they were here they came across a sandstorm so we decided to stop and wait for the sandstorm to end. Turns out it was a great decision and we made it through. Another problem we faced was at the falls, where we had to decide whether to leave Sacagawea behind because she was slowing us down or nurse her back to health. We chose to nurse her back with opium and sulphur water. and with this she was able to recover and continue the expedition.

There were four situations that Lewis and Clark faced. The first situation that they faced was that when they were at Fort Mandan, there were sandstorms. The solution was to continue the expedition. It turned out that it was a little difficult to travel, but we made it through the sandstorm. The second situation that Lewis and Clark was going through was when we were at the Missouri River. The problem was that the sandstorm became worse and the river continues to increase. The solution was that we continued the expedition. It turned out that we were having a difficult time traveling. The third situation that we were at was when we were at the White Cliff. The problem was that there was a bear. The solution was that we shot the bear. It turned out that we saw more bears.

Throughout the years of 1800-1806 Lewis and Clark began an expedition to the West in order to find the main goal: THE NORTHWEST PASSAGE!! However, they didn't find it because it didn't exist still they faced obstacles to find the passage. One of the difficulties that they faced was how they were upstream against the missouri river their hands got blisters and muscles sore.

One situation is was that they faced a sand storm in the fort mandan they decided to stay until the storm left to go up the river ending well . the second situation was in the white cliffs the problem was the bears threating there lives they decide to shoot imedaatly at the bears this ended in a smart decision
the third situation was at the falls were the indian girl gott sick and the decision of the them was to attempt to help her

when i was at fort mandan there was a very harsh sand storm and i decided to stop while the sand storm kept going even though we hadn't traveled that far. this was a good decision and we survived and got to rest.
my second problem was at the white cliffs. there was a big bear that was there and i decided to shoot it, which was the right decision because if i wouldnt of shot it we would of been attacked and dead.
my third problem was at the north fork, there were 2 rivers and i needed to choose the one that led to the mountains. i decided to go to with the north fork . it seemed like a good choice but the river was unchanging and it did not lead to the mountains.

Throughout their exploration journey Lewis and Clark had many dilemnas and had to take life changing decisions. The first dilemma was at Fort Mandan, the problem was that there was a storm preventing the explorers to pass the decision taken was to stop and wait out for the storm, the decision was correct because we survived. The next location with the problem was at White Ciffs, where a bear threatened the life of the explorers, the bear was shot immediately and the explorers were safe. Another Dilemna a was at north Fork were the explorers decided not to shoot the indians and let them go, later on build a friendship.

WE OBSERVED THE BEAR FIRST THEN THE BEAR GOT ANGRY SO WE RAN AWAY FROM IT. IN THE END WE DIED SO WE WERE NOT VERY GOOD
I'm not going to answer the prompt question, since everyone had different answers. When I think about Lewis and Clark I think about how they were great leaders. When they had a problem they looked at all the evidence, and figured out the solution, such as when they didn't know the right direction at Three Forks. When Sacagawea was sick, Clark tried one remedy, but when it didn't work, Lewis thought of something else. And finally, when the group had to decide whether or not to stay at Fort Clatsop, or try to cross the Rocky Mountains and return, Lewis and Clark showed respect for the members of the expedition by allowing all members to vote, rather than just deciding themselves, which they had a perfect right to do as military commanders.
